If you are planning on studying anthropology, you will discover that there are not a whole lot of scholarships out there specifically aimed at anthropology students. One which is however is the Antonio J. Waring Jr. Full Scholarship for Academic Excellence in Anthropology. This scholarship is open specifically to anthropology majors who are studying at the State University of West Georgia. The reward is quite substantial; you can receive up to $7,500 per academic year. This covers the full cost of tuition in-state full-time, and also includes an allowance which you can use to help pay for room and board as well as textbooks.

You will need to fill out an application and submit it by the deadline, which varies each year. Selection is based on your academic achievement as well as leadership capabilities you have demonstrated and your level of participation in activities offered through the program. Students with a clear and realistic career plan have the best chance of receiving an award. All recipients are selected by the Anthropology Department faculty based on these qualifications.
