Are you studying agriculture? Could you use a little extra financial assistance to help you with your education? If so, you may want to check into the NPFDA Scholarship Foundation’s annual opportunities. The National Poultry & Food Distributors Association awards $1,500 to $2,000 to various students who meet their selection criteria and complete their applications by May 31.
There are no specific requirements about which university you attend (it does not even need to be a four year university; community colleges are considered as well). You do however need to be a junior or senior in the upcoming year at your college, and be enrolled full time. To apply, provide your current official transcript along with a letter of recommendation from your dean. Fill out the application, and provide a one-page essay that describes your goals in the field of agriculture. What program do you need to be studying? You can be studying any agricultural degree field, including Food Science, Agricultural Engineering, Food Marketing, Poultry Science, and so forth. While these awards are not very big, the foundation gives out a lot of them, so you have good odds of getting selected if you do a great job on the essay and demonstrate strong academic performance.
