Studying computer science? Want to receive $10,000 to help you pay your way through college? One exciting scholarship to look into is the Google Anita Borg Memorial Scholarship, named in honor of Dr. Anita Borg. Dr. Borg did extensive work to help women break into the computing field.
In order to apply, you need to be a female student entering into the senior year of your undergraduate studies or be enrolled in a graduate program for the upcoming year. You must be attending an accredited US university, and must be majoring in computer science or computer engineering or a close related technical field. You must be attending school full time, and your GPA needs to be 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent). You can apply whether you are a citizen or not. You can also reapply if you were a finalist or another applicant in a previous year. Submit your application by the January 6th deadline, and if you are selected in March as a finalist, you will be called for a phone interview. If you are selected to win, you will be invited to the Annual Google Scholars’ Retreat in Mountain View, CA. Good luck winning this very prestigious award!
