Are you pursuing a two or four year degree in accounting? You may be eligible for a scholarship of $1,000 provided by the Teachers of Accounting at Two-Year Colleges (TACTYC). Seven students each year are granted this scholarship to assist them financially with their studies. Two are given to students who are studying to earn a two year degree in accounting and have plans to go on to earn a four year degree. The other five go to students who have completed a two year degree in accounting and are going on to complete a four year bachelor’s degree in the same field.
To apply for the TACTYC scholarship for accounting studies, you will need to provide documentation which shows your credit hour completion and your GPA. Your GPA must be a minimum of 3.0, and you need to have completed at least 20 credit hours, at least 6 of which must be in your field. You will also need to provide letters of recommendation, and be able to articulate your commitment to the goal of becoming an accountant. A 1-2 page essay must be included along with your application. This scholarship is awarded annually. The deadline to apply is March 1st.
