If you are a college student with ADHD, you may qualify for the Shire ADHD Scholarship for $2,000. Fifty recipients are selected each year based on merit. To apply, you will need to be attending either a college, technical school, or vocational school. You will need to describe your extracurricular activities (including volunteering or community service), and also turn in an essay talking about ADHD and its impact on your life. There are no age limits, and you can apply even if you are not yet attending college as long as you have been accepted for the upcoming year. Another requirement is that you be receiving care from a licensed health care provider for your ADHD. You must have a diagnosis, but there does not need to be an ongoing treatment plan.
Along with the $2,000 reward, winners of the Shire ADHD Scholarship Program will receive a free prepaid year of ADHD coaching from the Edge Foundation. This coaching program helps students with ADHD to adjust to college life and studies and get the most out of their higher education. To apply for this scholarship, you must be a US resident. This is a wonderful way to transition into college life with ADHD.
