Are you a Maryland graduate student looking to take your nursing education to the next level? Are you hoping to become a nursing faculty member at a higher education institute in your state? If so, apply for the Maryland Graduate Nurse Support Program II. This program is funded through 0.1% of regulated patient revenue in the state, approved by the Health Service Cost Review Commission (HSCRC) back in 2005.
In order to be eligible, you must be a Maryland resident, and you must also be enrolled at an accredited Maryland college or university. You may be attending either full time or part time. You must be taking part in a Masters of Nursing (MSN, MS( program or a post-graduate certification program in nursing. Alternately, you may also be in a doctorate program (DNP, EdD, or PhD). Your GPA must be 3.0 or higher. You must demonstrate financial need, but need is not a guarantee of an award. Once applications are reviewed, Graduate Nursing Faculty Scholarships will be given out. Following that, Living Expenses Grant awards will be released. These may pay up to $25,000 per academic year. To apply, fill out the application and submit it along with a transcript and a sponsorship form signed by your school’s dean or director. Also provide a copy of your most recent state tax return.
