Applying for college with ADHD and a learning disability? There are a lot of great scholarships out there which can help you to pay your way through school, and one of them is the Fred J. Epstein Youth Achievement Award, offered through Smart Kids with Learning Disabilities. To qualify for this scholarship, you must be 19 or younger. Because this scholarship is geared toward younger participants, there are no specific requirements concerning college acceptance or plans for attendance. High school seniors and juniors may qualify, provided they are 19 or younger, but students who are already college will not be able to apply if they are over the age limit.
If you win the Fred J. Epstein Youth Achievement Award, you will receive an award of $1,000. You can then use that award to help finance your college education. This is a competitive award based on merit and achievement, and to win it you must demonstrate your talent and initiative in a field of your choice. This might include art, science, math, athletics, or another discipline. Your achievement could also take the form of community service. Honorable Mentions are given out as well.
