Fashion students who could use a financial boost can apply for an excellent opportunity through the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA). The CFDA offers a couple of prominent scholarship opportunities through their Clara Hancox Scholarship Fund, established in 2007. Since the CFDA started offering scholarships, they have given out $1,234,250 to fashion students. These opportunities are available to students in their junior year of study in a four year fashion design course. You need to be studying full time in order to qualify. In 2013, the CFDA gave out seven scholarships to fashion design students across the country. These included $5,000 and $10,000 scholarships.
For more information about CFDA scholarships and how to apply, see the CFDA website. There you can view the application process as well as the application deadlines, which may vary from year to year. This is one of the most prestigious fashion scholarships available. If it is your goal to become America’s next top designer, this is a wonderful way to get started. You will win both money and prominence if you are selected.
