If you are a student with ADHD and a learning disorder, you will want to check into the Allegra Ford Thomas Scholarship offered by the National Center for Learning Disabilities (NCLD). This scholarship is a one-time monetary award of $2,500, and goes to a graduating high school senior who is enrolling in a vocational school, technical school, or two-year college. You may also be enrolling in a specialized program for students who have learning disabilities.

To apply for the Allegra Ford Thomas Scholarship, you will need to fill out an application form which includes a question and answer section, provide a high school transcript with your grades, a financial statement that proves your need, three letters of recommendation, and documentation proving you have a learning disorder. Please note that ADHD by itself does not constitute a learning disorder for the purposes of this scholarship application. Through your application form and your letters of recommendation, you must make it clear that you have set achievable career goals for yourself. You will also need to show that you are involved in your community or in extracurricular activities. Students who win the Allegra Ford Thomas Scholarship will be committed to succeed in spite of their learning disorder.
