The American Academy of Chefs (AAC) gives out a number of scholarships to culinary students at different levels (high school, college, and even professional chefs who are heading back to school). The AAC Culinary Scholarships for High School Seniors and College students are excellent if you are entering into a culinary program or are already enrolled in one. There are also scholarships given to students at specific schools, including The Chef’s Academy, the Culinary Institute of America, and Johnson & Wales University. If you are already a professional and wish to update your skills, you can apply for the Grant for Pastry Chefs and Bakers, General Professional Development Grant, or the Grant for CIA Online Courses.
The specific requirements, deadlines and amounts vary depending on the type of AAC scholarship you apply for. In general, you must be a student in good standing with a solid GPA. You must have the goal of becoming a chef or pastry chef, and provide transcripts as needed to demonstrate your academic performance. There is something for everyone, so no matter where you are on your educational or professional journey, it is well worth your time to check out these fantastic culinary scholarships.
